Cover art from 1960s and 1970s smut published by Liverpool Library Press, Valley Circle, Patch Pokets, PEC and others. Artists include Harry Bremner (line art for Greenleaf Books) and Robert Bonfils. There was an explosion of sex books in the 1960s in Britain following the Lady Chatterley obscenity trial, which meant that publishers were far less likely to face prosecution. Pretty much all taboos were flouted in titles featuring a bevvy of divorcees and hungry brides. Some of these books now seem quaintly amusing ("Enema Happy Nympho Nurses") while others remain disturbing (with themes including bestiality, incest, racial stereotyping, rape and child sexual abuse). The covers often featured cartoons, sometimes featuring breasts but never anything below the waist beyond bulging underpants or a tantalising drawing back of sheets. Some of these show men as helpless objects of a woman's lust. Others I have edited to fit that theme.
