Tips on captioning from an avid reader of captions:

1.) Use a simple, easily legible font. Fonts should be the messenger of your conceptualized idea, not its face.
2.) Only caption photos that are of sufficient resolution and content to be worthy of captioning. Low-res or low-quality pictures are difficult to read and any pixellation due to resizing or inherent low quality (or inherent artifacts if .jpeg) really counteracts the caption as well as reducing its overall utility. If that image is precisely what you wish to caption but it is not of sufficient quality or resolution, try a reverse image search engine, such as Google Images Reverse Search or Tineye to try to find a better quality/better resolution picture.
2.) Use proper grammar, including spelling. Grammatical errors distract - and detract - from your caption. You may have the most erotic captions in the world, but if they are not properly spelled or constructed in complete coherent thoughts, the inherent eroticism of your work is thus lost or minimized.
3.) Make sure your captions are concise. Long captions are not captions: they're stories, and while stories may be erotic for you as the author, they can be distracting to the fantasy generated in the mind of the reader-viewer.
4.) Ideally, captions should be enticing and provoke imaginative thought - not generally be a total exposition of a situation or scenario. Let the reader-viewer envision what will happen next, and by ceding to the reader-viewer that control, you will increase its eroticism for your audience, and you will increase your viewership and appreciation of your hard work.
5.) If your captions are not captioned in English, please make note of that fact in either the title or subtitle. If you are feeling very generous and are multi-lingual including English, perhaps comment or subtitle translations so that monolinguistic English-only reader-viewers can also enjoy your fine works.

Just some tips from someone who reads a lot of very excellent and very poor captions every day, the difference between those two being those considerations listed above.

    Good luck, and happy captioning!

    - WG
