I should clarify my last post...I'm aware of the ongoing photo upload issues. What has me puzzled is video uploads. Before the photo mess began, there were complaints about not being to upload videos. Except, I keep seeing new videos posted which are watermarked/stamped by other sites. Meanwhile, actual personal content is not being approved.
Well I was right. They have to rebuild the servers for the uploader from scratch. I suspect the uploader will not be up and running until at least Nov' 2nd.
Well this wasn't supposed to happen, but it did. :roll:
As some of you have noticed, when you upload pictures you might see some errors.
This is because of a site update, basically called PHP. This was all over the news and listed as something that could be considered as critical if not fixed.
So the fix was put on our site. Everything seemed to be ok at the onset. Then the uploads started. Not everyone had an issue. And we know that because the new galleries you see were still strong.
I noticed that as the hours went by more errors were popping up. I notified the IT guys about this.
Honestly when a patch or fix was applied there was always that small chance that something could go wrong. And it did :cry:
For now the uploading function is still turned on. But if this mess continues to get worse we might just stop uploading until Monday or so.
The fix isn't just by looking at the code and doing a simple line or two of editing.
Hang on a little while. This fix is priority #1.
UPDATE : I will also note some of the obvious. The site is running incredibly slow. This will also be addressed.
