"I would point out that images here of cruxees without feet secured are non-existent before this one. It's a hard and hazardous position to be in. In antiquity, feet were perhaps left this way for a short time only, because the strain on legs, belly and arms would be tremendous and accelerate the process of dying if not stopped. Nailed or roped, the event took a whole lot longer, delivering more pain and suffering to the one on the cross and much more fear and 'entertainment value' to the spectators.Much praise to the lady for her participation." |
