The advantage of building own trodes are that they don't cost anything and they exactly match my size. Green and red are left and right, black is common ground. I highly suggest to test different trode placements and different connection settings. Even only switching left and right can have tremendous effects and you might think that the same file feels completed different. These are my most used setups. As you can imagine many more combinations are possible.
