Stripped naked at the edge of the forest, the unfortunate woman had a heavy wooden bar tied across her shoulders, arms stretched out to steady the load and to fix her to it securely. Made to walk barefoot over fallen branches and rough, uneven ground, she at last arrives at the spot decided for her hanging.
The big beam with her attached, is hoisted high off the ground and, with her dangling in pain, is secured to the slender upright of the tall tree. Feet are tightly, painfully, roped against the tree-trunk, bending the flailing legs in order to do so, and she is left to submit to the fate decided for her.
She is crucified.
Her body rises and falls, writhes from side to side, seeking to lessen the ever-increasing pain and trauma to which she has been condemned. It's no use; the twisting and turning continues unabated . . . she is, alas, hanging piteously crucified.
