I’ve been unemployed since January. It’s not a big deal, as I did get a very generous severance,. And my wife still makes a bundle, so we’re OK financially. It was just a hard adjustment for my wife, as she was used to me being gone for so long. She had her own social schedule made and she felt like she had to be home with me. I told her that wasn’t the case, and I think she had finally believed me. Every night this week, she has been out with friends for drinks, usually coming home late. A today she came home, but then left after a phone call to catch up with friends. When I ask her if there are any male friends, she gets that look and says maybe! Any “benefit†friends, I asked, and she said a few playful ones, especially on the dance floors!
