The crux-mistress stands over the naked wretch, ready to whip that unfortunate individual,
punishment as prescribed, before being made to hang from the crude instrument of torture.
Slowly, softly, the cruxee is persuaded to stand and offer her bare back and buttocks to the lash,
to accept punishment obediently, whereupon the older bitch begins the flogging without any mercy.
Then the victim is put to the cross, mounting a low bench, turning back against the device,
there to be roped onto the the crude, wooden frame,
to be lashed some more,
before being left naked and cold to writhe, scream and endure the traumatic pain, anguish and loneliness of crucifixion.
It's a long, agonising period of intense suffering until the poor girl is taken down,
for some tlc and well-earned consolation in the welcoming arms of her tormentor.
The forfeit has been paid in full - she's not been made to endure the full rigours of prolonged crucifixion, à l’outrance. Maybe next time . . .
