Among the Thalari. These female anthropology students from the University of East Anglia lived three months with the remote Thalari people. They shared daily life—gathering food, weaving, learning the language—and were gradually accepted into the community. Near the end of their stay, two of them voluntarily joined the tribe’s seasonal mating rituals. The rites were quiet, consensual, and rooted in the Thalari’s own traditions. Afterward the students returned to Norwich, carrying only the memory of that brief crossing of worlds.
