Hollis Sherman-Pepe is an American writer, director, actress and producer with more than two decades of experience in the film industry. Known for blending grounded storytelling with elements of fantasy and folklore, her work often explores the space where realism meets the uncanny. In 2015, she founded Farmer’s Daughter Productions LLC, through which she has developed and produced a range of award-winning films and screenplays while also supporting the work of fellow filmmakers. Her projects have received recognition including Best Picture, Best Sci-Fi, and Best VFX awards, along with Best Director nominations at various festivals. Sherman-Pepe began her career as an actor before transitioning into filmmaking in 2012. She holds a BFA in Theater Arts from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and moved to Los Angeles in 2007 to pursue her work in film. Born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania, she spent her early years in a rural setting with artist parents, working alongside her father as a carpenter-an upbringing that continues to inform her fascination with folklore and the mysterious forces that shape human stories. Through her work, she continues to craft layered narratives that invite audiences to look beyond the surface of the ordinary.
