Jasmine Power is a Welsh artist and songwriter with a vividly clear artistic vision and sense of musical integrity, something she attributes to the other-wordly beauty of her home in West Wales. Jasmine moved from rural Wales to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, before continuing to London’s Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she studied jazz voice alongside some of the UK’s most engaging and talented jazz musicians. While studying, she released her debut EP, Stories and Rhymes, featuring fellow musicians Moses Boyd and Joe-Armon Jones, which quickly caught the attention of some of the UK’s best selectors and tastemakers. Radio 6’s Giles Peterson dubbed her “one to watch”, calling the EP “great new emerging British jazz”, while Robert Elms described the title track ‘Stories and Rhymes’ as “exceptionally fresh” and BBC 2 presenter Jamie Cullum said there’s “something beautifully British” about Stories and Rhymes, highlighting the “great songwriting, great voice and unique sound”. Creating lyrical, cinematic worlds of jazz-informed pop, Jasmine has worked with a host of brilliant collaborators on an array of acclaimed projects spanning Wales, London, Nashville, LA, and New York. She has now returned to her roots to embark upon new projects which reflect the present moment of her artistic journey - creating something fresh and exciting while honouring all that has come before. Jasmine then moved to the song-writing capital of Nashville, and being in the United States opened up a whole new world of exciting collaborations. She worked with an abundance of incredible artists such as Melissa Manchester, Dave Palmer, Laura Osnes, and Amanda Palmer, cultivating her songwriting skills alongside some of the biggest talents in the industry. While in the U.S she wrote for film and TV - exploring cinematic, orchestral styles whilst continuously writing music for her own projects.
