Cordelia González (born on August 11, 1957 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a movie and theatre Actress, Master of Ceremonies, Voice and Broadcast Media professional born in San Juan, Puerto Rico.Mrs. González has a Bachelor's Degree in Drama / Theatre Arts and Stagecraft from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus and also a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in acting from the Yale School of Drama, Yale University, New Haven, CT. She is best known for her roles in the Hollywood movies "Born on the Fourth of July" (1989), under the direction of Academy Award Winner Oliver Stone, and "The Mambo Kings" (1992) where she appeared next to Armand Assante and Antonio Banderas. In her native Puerto Rico, she did a short stint on a TV series, and one in the film La Gran Fiesta (1986) with Raúl Juliá before hitting the Hollywood scene to further her acting career. Stateside, she landed the role of the Cuban boxer’s wife in Homeboy (1988) with Mickey Rourke and Christopher Walken, followed by an appearance in TV series The Equalizer in 1989 before she cruised into Tom territory. From there it was almost like smooth sailing for the graduate of the Yale School of Drama, where she earned her M.F.A. in acting. She was cast as Detective Constanza in two made-for-TV Kojak movies: It’s Always Something (1990) and None So Blind (1990), and in 1992, she was cast as Anna Maria opposite Armand Assante and Antonio Banderas in The Mambo Kings. Cordelia then started splitting her time between Puerto Rico and the US, starring on both the big screen in feature films, and on the little screen in a variety of TV series, mini-series, and TV movies, as well as in theatre stage productions. Regardless of what country she’s in, or what language she’s acting in, Cordelia will forever be that hot chick with her boobs in Tom Cruise’s face, and that’s okay.
