Everyone loves weekly urinal rounds at the local county hospital. Years ago, a visionary charge nurse noticed low morale on her unit, and started the now longstanding tradition of inviting male patients, nurses, and orderlies to evacuate their bladders on a selected nurse every Monday morning. The preceding week, nominations for the target nurse are held, and a vote is taken when orders are placed for meals. Patients on her floor were very motivated to participate, and were less surly, and had better outcomes. As a result, the protocol spread to the other wards in the hospital. Grand urinal round are also occasionally held, where physicians and hospital board members participate.
