Hachishakusama is a terrifying Japanese urban legend about an 8-foot-tall female spirit who kidnaps young males and is known for the distinctive "po" sound she makes. She targets young males, appearing in a white dress and hat, and once she has a victim, that Boy is doomed to disappear forever. While some versions of the legend state she was captured and imprisoned by monks using Jizo statues, the story of her escape and ongoing hunt for Boys remains a popular modern horror tale.
