Something that was mentioned in a high school science class
|
There is a biological reason to have jungle fever, or Asian jungle fever, or the like. I'm referring to heterosis. Before explaining heterosis, we can debate if “Asian jungle fever” is the right phase? Some might suggest that the words should be “yellow fever”, but no, I’m quite sure the phrase is “Asian jungle fever”. Me, I like my women from the Arctic, so I have Arctic jungle fever.
Then, the thing with heterosis is that individuals that are very different genetically get, for lack of better words, "good" offspring. This is partly explained by Mendel's laws of heredity and that the best genes (actually alleles) from each parent are expressed in the offspring. How do you find an individual that has a genome that’s very different from yours? Easy for baby making, choose someone whose ancestors were born far away from your ancestors. If you’re European you now have that hypothesis on your side for choosing an African or Asian.
