Hopeless times

I just had to quit work. They didn't really have any use for me. On that work one young woman seemed to flirt with me. I'm sure that's the last time a woman flirted with me for my looks. I'm middle aged, don't look as good as I used to. Or maybe that will happen again, if I listen to mom. Mom claims I do not have to worry about losing my look for ten years, so 47 is the age men turn ugly?
We live in a hopeless time. There are more obvious examples of that than me aging. Then now being unemployed might be a bigger reason it's hopeless for me trying to date than my age ...
