We're still here, gurl. Just going slower these days. I realized that I no longer had to be scared of the Pen tool on Photoshop.
I was born with a pencil in my hand. It's an extension of my fingers by now. So when I started drawing on the puter, it was easiest to just draw with a Brush tool and make the best of it. Newer Macs and higher resolutions and more sensitive styluses gradually became harder & harder to use. Now the current one twitches so much that it's really a labor to be as precise as I'd like.
However, with the Pen tool it's all so amazingly fucking easy. I'm shocked at the ease. I can draw with my trackpad if I have to. Still, it's a whole new thing to pick up a new skill and turn everything you do upside-down. But clean lines are wonderful. I can extrapolate hidden details more easily. Fingers (& fingernails) were always the bane of my existence as an artist. Not no more. Details on clothing or shoes are a snap. Jewelery becomes possible. Suddenly, I have time & energy for patterns and details. It's just like all of the sudden I can grow into more of the artist I always wanted to be.
So I'm excited to share a bit of what I was working on today. I could notice how much more quickly things can move as I grew more accustomed to the Pen tool. So maybe tomorrow we'll have more goodies to look at!
