Admin deleted one of our galleries for 'copyright violation', the buggers. They warned us they were going to, we replied with questions, they ignored us and just deleted it.

We don't see how that particular Mayfair gallery [Jayne Hill, Mayfair v16 n03] is different from any of the others, nor why the pics are still in copyright. None of the original people get any money from it so why should someone be able to complain?

 So - we've not done anything for new posts for a few days - why should we bother when they could all be deleted tomorrow with no questions asked, without telling us anything.

But - we'll get back to it soon, we expect.

Iceman's got such a backlog of processing to do that I thought I'd have a play with the scanner and the software [Paint Shop Pro v5.03, if you're interested]. The software's out of the Ark - copyright Noah - but Iceman knows what he wants from it so we stick with it.

But I was fed up with two things - the blocky sharpening and the bleed-through of what's printed on the other side of the page. And - result :) on both problems.

PSP sharpens on an 8x8 pixel grid, starting top left - so for sharpening, do it gently, rotate 90 degrees, sharpen gently, repeat until sharp enough. The only 8x8 blockiness present at the end is the last - all the others had a different grid. So now I crop the image until it's divisible by 3 for both height and width before starting to sharpen.

I figured the bleed-through might be increased by the fact that the scanner [cheapie A4 flatbed Epson XP-435] has a shiny white foam pad under the lid. So I tried inserting a plain black sheet of card to stop the reflection - result :)

So - both the scanning and the image processing will be slower, and we'll have to revisit our favourite images to do them again.

If any of you want any particular images re-done - LET US KNOW! [Perhaps it's your mum, your granny, your wife or your daughter!]

'Straighter' indeed - I'm lining them up by eye and he has to rotate the images by at most 0.3 degrees, usually around 0.15 degrees. The human eye is stunningly sensitive to the vertical / horizontal!

And it's muggins that keeps him supplied with coffee, alcohol, food...

Anyway, we've not had time for our usual research into our posts - their other appearances in magazines and films; if we live long enough we'll add do that and add it to the galleries. But for now - just enjoy the pics, people :)

The production line is rolling, gently [hey, real life has to go on!]. Icegirl does the scanning and file-management, and Iceman does the image-processing and uploading.

I just wish she's put them through straighter.

To repeat - we're keeping the hi-res scans so if there's an old fave you want in full res - let us know!

And we're buying mags to replace the poor images for our favourite girls which allows us to post or replace pics that were ditched in the big house-move clearout decades ago.

Finally, after a complete rebuild of the home IT setup [2 desktops, 4 laptops, 1 printer-scanner etc.] - we're back to posting stuff for you all to enjoy.

I've been chasing Iceman round the place with a whip - he's supposed to do the interwebbie-thing stuff. Luckily - we both enjoy the thrill of the chase, each bouncing in or own ways ;)

Came across a couple of pics of Ms. Rigg - we think they're fakes but posted them anyway :)

Our Thunderbird archive is not rebuilt yet - it's not intuitive and will take a bit more research. But the old gmail addys are about to be checked - if you've recommended stuff in the last couple of months - we'll be back at you soon!

Two weeks wonderful holiday with 15 family and friends and - we're raring to go :)

If you search for exactly our gallery title inside double-quotes, the first page is full of links to the Iceman site or a gallery or a blog entry.

Ah well, it was fun while it lasted, but her lawyers will be trying to track us down with a 'Cease and Desist'. And that means we'll have The Man after us, and that means GCHQ and the NSA.

Looked into the stats a bit more closely - and the overall hit-count is just a summary of the individual pic hits; so the total varies by the number of pics as well as how popular the gallery is.

Now we've a better connection, we're wondering whether to increase the size of our pics.

Imagefap - and other porn sites that have scaped our uploads :) - class 1366 x 768 as 'huge'.

We didn't know she'd carried on modelling - never looked. But (s)he's done the work for us!

We started this because we're getting old and we're going to have to move; so we bvought a scanner and started scanning the archive so the paper can be recycled. Reducing our *stuff*.

We're still scanning so we can do that, but it's so slow because we're perfectionists. We don't just scan and upload, we (welll, Iceman does while Icegirl scans and sorts the paperwork!) rotate, crop, sharpen, select the bits that the jpg has over-sharpened and blur them, adjust brightness, contrast, colour-balance, resize - it all takes time.

We've just done Karen Thornton - and she's a can of worms, as it were. She posed so often for so many mags! Louise Freeman posed fo other mags and so did Jenny Strachan, Chrissie Wilde - we've got to process them and update our galleries - Louise is one of the most popular galleries after Lady Di and Dr Laura.
