With the
world's most faked personality, the gracious Kaley Cuoco. Don't think Seth
MacFarlane hasn't noticed and nodded his head in an approving manner.
It's a lot
of fun faking it, and it seems these days everyone can. Or say they can. So
half the content is fantastic, half is some sort of scribble. Much of Kram
Shot's work is commendable - for porn, it's refreshing to see actual English
written properly, but it also hints at something more.
The writers
of the sitcoms have to water it all down for family viewing, until the unspoken
sexual tension finally gains the upper hand. When captioning the fakes, what
you're looking to do is not only deliver a single-line joke but also rummage
around in the vast unwritten script the original series writers would have
killed for. This large, rich, detailed and essentially funny body of possible
storylines is at your disposal, so by that reckoning, if done well, it should
be a vast improvement on the series itself.
There's only
one joke in here I like, and that's where I'd made Penny's breasts somewhat
larger, taking care to brush in the refracted bit that runs thru the glass on
the table. And you think, hopefully, big boobs, big bang. What happened after
the big bang? Inflation. According to Guth anyway. In sex, however, the
inflation comes before the big bang.
So she says "So inflation came after the big bang?" and it kinda
looks like she's touching him under the table, with his expression, and he's
thinking "Well.... before in my case". This intends to underscorethe
subtles in their expressions that lead you somewhere else, leaving Penny's new
and very large boobs alone for that moment.
There
is one storyline here I'm proud of. When the girls flash a boob, they get
hired, so they call it 'auditioning'. It meant that some variety could happen
insofar as cameos and one-time appearances woukld likely get faked as part of
the running gag.
ARCHER FAKES
The Archer
fakes are different, in that one isn't considering script when selecting the
scene. We all know Archer, so the stills will take us back there, only with a
new approach. So it doesn't need dialogue where the scene is adequately set
visually, and the joke therefore relies on the viewer knowing the series well.
Different
technique for these and other toons - I also do Futurama - is to take the still
into a vector app and draw up the lines that are to be revealed. Once those are
inked, thst's overlaid on the still and a layer between is inked with the same
colours from the scene. Some care has to happen here in, for example, ensuring
that Lana's nipples look the same across frames - which applies to Sheryl and
Pam, too.
You might
recognise the boobs on the boards as those of Hayley from American Dad!
With fakes,
you can tell in half a second if it looks real or not, and in my case roughly
one-third are binned when they fail that rather short test.
It helps
tremendously that the writers have explored the sexual tension and underlying
theme of sexuality as we associate with the spy grnre, sothe only difference
here is that it's exaggerated or pushed into focus more frequently than is
usual, and yet not as frequent as we would like it to be.
OTHER
FAKES
As mentioned, I have a technique for toons, particularly
when concerning Amy Wong of the Mars Wongs in Futurama. It's her nonchalance I
particularly enjoy, a theme seldom explored in mainstream entertainment. I have
some scenes from Family Guy in the ‘to do’ box, and those might have to be
captioned. It’ll be a tall order penning something funnier that the show’s
original writers, but with an arsenal of nudity at your disposal, not impossible.
