..well, an archived database of [oldest known date-d][file image data size][ image data strong hash] records could be used to verify that any given file did exist as far back as the given date, as long as the file were never altered. The hashing should avoid including any file metadata which is too easily altered by even the operating system, like messing with EXIF fields. Only the image data should be the basis of the hashing. ImageFap could generate such a database quite easily, now. It would not take up much space either, probably fit easily in a terabyte, 64 byte record per file.
