About Me
I am currently researching the history of female correction. Such work almost always carried out by stout women. There are a number of firms out there that have been involved in the noble art of slut shaming over several generations. Examining their archives and interviewing staff have provided me with a most valuable resource for my work. In particular, a local firm, Turners Slut Shamers have been very helpful. Turners is a well respected family run firm in the County of Gloucestershire, The sisters' own maternal great-great-grandmother had been head matron at Gloucester Work House and as such would have been responsible for overseeing any slut-shaming carried at the home. Later records show that she passed the tradition on to her daughter, as it was this daughter, that set up one of the first independent enterprises in the UK, This was the Cheltenham Imperial School for Wayward Women and was the predecessor to the present day firm - Turners' Slut Shamers.
