"I'd rather go naked than wear fur!" That was a frequent slogan of demonstrations in many countries by supporters of PETA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Agree or disagree with the demands raised by PETA in particular situations, you have to admire their bold tactics, and be impressed by the courage of mainly young, conventionally attractive women activists who protested against the abuse of animals while wearing as little as possible. They certainly got a hearing for their ideas. Even if these actions tended to draw crowds of men with cameras, the slogans were highly visible and their speakers were extremely effective. PETA seems to be less prominent in recent years, but this gallery illustrates their tactic of using the female body to help draw enormous public attention.
