After all girls were inspected, weighted, measured and generally evaluated, Matrons brought them to the harem baths known as Hammams. It was their first contact with the other harem inhabitants. For some Balkan girls, this become a lengthy process as they were usually very hairy. Special attention was given to the genital and anal nregion of the body. The head matron then went around the girls, inspecting with a magnifying glass the depilation work of the bath matrons. When the girl or woman was perfectly smooth, she was taken to a massage table where she was massaged by a strong matron. Pasha some time came and watched. After this thorough bodily massage girls were brought to the communal bedroom to relax. The initiation procedures took a full day. All model are 18 years of age or older.
