Alaia D’Alessandro (born in Seattle, WA, United States) is the compelling frontwoman for the bilingual Pacific Northwest-based rock band, Tres Leches, along with multi-instrumentalist Ulises Mariscal, the idea is necessary, if not rather difficult. It’s also the thesis of her band’s latest single, “Strangest of Friends”. Whether she’s executing a precise guitar solo or singing into the microphone about music festivals not paying bands enough, D’Alessandro packs a profound punch. Today, D’Alessandro is on the road with Tres Leches, venturing from city to city, promoting the good word of her band, which itself recently signed to the label, Devil in the Woods. In “‘Strangest of Friends’ song and accompanying music video, in which D’Alessandro begins singing and playing guitar nude, D’Alessandro says: “[It is about] the simple act of clothing yourself. Putting on a protective layer. Within that act is the power struggle of vulnerability. What can you do with that vulnerability? How do you use it? Do you let it consume you? Do you let it change you? Let it manifest something? D'Alessandro's background includes working as a producer at KEXP for eight years, where she filmed bands globally. She also worked as a video editor at the University of Washington and majored in Comparative History of Ideas.
