Barbora 'Bára' Å tÄ›pánová (born December 13, 1959 in Prague, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]) is Czech actress and presenter. Because she was already actively interested in politics before the Velvet Revolution, she decided to sign Charter 77 in 1986. It is not possible to assess whether this anti-regime act had an effect on her further career, however, she continued to receive roles in films and television series in the following years. In May 1988, she became one of the founders of the recessist-humorist civic initiative SpoleÄnost za veseljejšà souÄasnost (SVS). Because she got into a conflict with a member of the SNB during a demonstration on October 28, 1988, she was accused of assaulting a public official, but the court acquitted her in January 1989. From 1990, she worked for two years as the secretary of Czechoslovak President Václav Havel. After her first marriage in the 1980s, her civil surname was Rosendorf. On June 30, 1990, she married for the second time, to SVS president LuboÅ¡ Rychvalský - her superior at the time, President Havel, was also a guest at the wedding. From this marriage came a daughter, Dominika. Since 2009, she has been married for the third time, to Miroslav Barabáš. Å tÄ›pánová is the niece of the philosopher, politician and Chartist Rudolf BattÄ›k. Her brother David Å tÄ›pán served as chairman of the political party DOMOV. As an actress, she is known for Pytláci (1981), TisÃcrocná vÄela (1983), Šéfe, jdeme na to! (1984), Jak básnÃkum chutná život (1988), Konec básnÃku v ÄŒechách (1993) and Ordinace v ruzové zahrade 2 (TV Series, 2010-2021).
