Here is the next in my series of lingerie suitable for gurls. Playtex is a major seller of inexpensive bras in the United States. Playtex's parent company, the International Latex Corporation (ILC), was formed in 1932 and produced products such as bathing caps, swimwear, and baby pants. It’s first women’s underwear product, The Living Girdle made of latex, was introduced in 1940. Playtex was spun off in 1947 as a separate company owned by ILC. After the Living Girdle, the company’s two signature products have been the Cross Your Heart bra, introduced in 1954, and The Eighteen Hour bra introduced in the 1970s. The 18 Hour Bra appears to be a slight redesign of the Living Bra introduced earlier in 1954. The Living Girdle is gone (sadly; I would love to wear that rubber girdle!), but I have included a few old advertisements and other pictures of Playtex products from the 1940s to 1970s. Playtex no longer markets shapewear in the United States at all anymore. The photos from current shapewear advertisements are all from UK retail sites. Most Playtex bras are not underwired (personally, I prefer wearing underwire bras) and look pretty basic, but they get the job done, the price is right, and will nicely hold whatever you gurls use for your tits. As before, I have avoided bras that are stiff, padded, efforts to hide or flatten rather than highlight the shape of the breast. Enjoy.
