Marie-Hélène Bellavance (born 1981 in Montreal, Québec, Canada) is a Canadian francophone artist, actress, choreographer and dancer. She graduated college with a dual major in Beaux Arts and Psychology. She is most well-known in her native Montreal as a professional dancer, appearing in a number of stage productions as well as working as a choreographer for other productions including a variety of festivals. What sets this sexy dancer apart from all the others is that she is a double amputee, missing both legs below the knee from the hildhood. Making her work not just artistic, but inspirational. She is most noted for her performance in the 2009 film Vital Signs (Les signes vitaux), for which she won the Borsos Competition award for Best Performance in a Canadian Film at the 2009 Whistler Film Festival. Her full frontal turn in Vital Signs (2009) will have you inspired in a whole different way. We see her bush when she lays on the bed with a guy after sex and laughs. We also see her in her underwear as she takes off her pants and gets into bed then she shows all three B’s when she hits the shower and washes her tight, dancer’s body. In Vital Signs, her debut film performance, she received praise in part for her willingness to appear in a nude scene in which her amputations were not hidden from view. Marie-Hélène Bellavance, a double amputee who lost both of her lower legs in childhood, studied fine arts at Montreal's Concordia University. Her artistic practice has centred predominantly around representation of disability, including in visual art, dance and choreography. She is the artistic director of Corpuscule Danse, a dance company built around dancers with disabilities. In 2021 she appeared in Annie Leclair's short documentary film Grounded (Enracinée). Marie-Hélène Bellavance is known for Vital Signs (2009), Grounded (2020) and Tout le monde en parle (2004).
