Wrong pictures

Can you fix already a situation when you click on a thumbnail and the wrong picture are showing? It's been several months and you do nothing.

Never gonna happen. It's REALLY exhausting with galleries that have a large number of pictures. You would think too if you do find the picture you want and save it to favorites that you could easily get back to it. Nope.

The site owners are aware of the problem. When an IT guy is assigned to fix the problems by the owners is when it will happen.

I know of all the problems and support tickets have been made. The problems have been going on for a year. So you aren't telling us anything new.

There is nothing else to say. Chronic complainers (I see a few) will have their accounts closed.

Well, that's not the only problem that's not fixed since once upon a time. You know that by yourself.

I have the impression that it always gets the image that is one before in the gallery. Except - of course - if you click the first one. That means your counter is one number short, when you click on an image in the gallery.

If I should guess I would say somewhere in the routine that gets the image from the database there is a subtraction of 1 from the counter.

You can see that pagination of the images when you browse through the images after opening one. The first image is "#0", the second is "#1" and so on. And here's the problem.

If you use ROW_NUMBER() in SQL it begins to count at 1. If you use LIMIT or OFFSET it begins to count at 0. And some highbrow seems to have "corrected" or "syncronize" that counting from ROW_NUMBER manually by subtracting 1 because he thought that it should fit with the other counting or the pagination. That would exactly cause this problem. The search will get the predecessor of the dataset it wanted to get. And of course it works with the first dataset because dataset #-1 doesn't exist and is caught by troubleshoot routines.

Perhaps you can give that information to your IT guys.

There is no consistency what I can see, some galleries don't have this issue at all, some galleries open the image that comes before the one you click in the album like mentioned above, and some galleries open an image that's like 50 images away in the album from the one you click.

You're right. I've come across galleries that don't have this problem at all and thought "Yay! It's been fixed!" but then found the problem again in other galleries. Sometimes (especially in smaller galleries) the proper image is off by 1 or 2, but then in larger galleries it can be off by 20, 30, 50 images.

I am aware of every problem on the site. Obviously. So you don't need to tell me over and over.

If the site owners don't fixing this stuff is worth their time, well then that's how it is.

And believe me - they know.

So it is what it is. No sense in sweating the small stuff.

I think it could have to do with the creation and "afterwork" of a gallery.
If you upload a gallery without errors and don't edit it afterwards (no deleting or moving of pictures), there seems to be no problem.

I always choose and sort my pictures before I upload them and as far as I know,
there are no problems with my galleries.
