SUGGESTIONS on things imagefap could do or change.

i realize other people have started similar threads. what im looking for are condensed suggestions. reasonable ones. almost reasonable ones. a small list. i want to hear from everyone please... but try to keep it simple... nothing over explained please... nothing OVERblown please

simple and to the point here is YOUR chance to help me make a list of possible changes. so sound off what do you think will make ImageFap even better.

Let's get those things working that will make common courtesy do-able. You might have seen this thread of mine, which I started on the morning after quite a lot of work went on behind the scenes. In it I suggested putting up an "Under Construction" kind of page when there's a good chance the site isn't as readily surf-able as we're accustomed to, and linking it to login.php, the default URL, and anywhere else people are likely to bookmark or shortcut for access to the site. Along with that could go setting up (or fixing) the batch mailer. Nice little courtesy emails, pre-formatted, are just the thing in situations like the one I ran into on that particular morning. It'd also be a boon to the forum: I happen to like knowing when a thread I started has gotten a reply.

I know a lot of people don't like those kinds of emails, but I do.

And maybe, just maybe, it's time to pitch the Uploader for something less prone to "forget" how much disk space it has to work with.

Is this anything like what you were looking for, rougefemale?

I could think of thousands probably....but not if they are just passed off as another post read by two or three people who can't or won't do anything about it.

Here's a couple off the top of my head (I was actually about to make a thread on the secon)
1). Have a Link showing how many users favorited a gallery, with that link leading to a pop-up, javascript, or new window/tab that will show who favorited it.

Example:

2) Delete redundant Niches on the Gallery Pages. (Our Niches)

Anime Porn and Cartoon Porn have the same amount (and same Images). Just make it Cartoon, or Animated, or Art. I realize the term Anime applies to Japanese or other Eastern Manga style art. So either Anime and Cartoon needs to be separated (preferred) or have them all go into an Art Category

Consolidate Ebony and Black to just Black, Bondage and S&M to just BDSM, Funny and Oops to just Funny, Latino and Latino in to Latina/Latino, Orgy and Groupsex to just GroupSex (orgy is understood), and for the love of god, Shemale and Transexual to just Transexual.

3) Allow up to five categories instead of three (like sister site PureTNA and Xhamster, which it's upload page is STRANGELY familiar...)

I have only a suggestion, but is important for me:

I don´t like the avatar of the non-avatar users, and I can´t upload any avatar because I don´t know how these things work. So I would like put here an avatar that I liked in the same way that in other webs can be put: copy and paste the URL.

So long as that's an either-or, I'm fine with it. I've been on forums where a pasted URL to an image host was the one and only option, and didn't appreciate going through three more steps and relying on yet someone else's software -- image hosts all go down sometime, as we know -- just to deliver my avatar to a forum or blog I probably wouldn't visit once a week if they were very lucky.

Anyone who wants to know how to replace the generic avatar with one of their own, try this walkthrough.

I agree: a hand in the air simulating male masturbation is, while right in line with the "Fap" part of the name "ImageFap", not something one wants to see 'come day, go day.'

BTW: a set of How To's and walkthroughs in decent, clear English was going to be my first suggestion. But when I read "reasonable" and "almost reasonable," I pretty much figured a set of how-to's and walkthroughs fell well outside that. I guess I was too hasty with that judgment.

how to's and walk through's are pretty much what we do here in the forum on an almost daily basis. i like that. but thats my opinion.

I couldn't let this opportunity go by without chiming in on one of my pet peeves w/regard to the galleries.

I've posted on this often enough that it shouldn't beg a link to any single one of them, but I'm going to do the courteous -- or outright annoying -- thing and provide one anyway.

Restore the picture order on uploads to how it was before. It's much easier, in short, to find new adds to a gallery when they're all after the last previous set, and not randomly inserted between those thumbnails. The weird thing is, if you go to the -- now working and thanks -- BBCode generator, you'll find the thumbs in the order in which the pictures were uploaded. But I repeat myself.

Opportunity availed of. Take what you like and leave the rest.
