When I was a little girl, my Mum went out and my Dad was in charge of me.
I was maybe around three years old and had just recovered from an accident.
My Aunt had given me a little child's miniature 'tea set' as a get-well present
and very soon it became one of my most favorite toys.
Dad was sitting in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought him
a cup of pretend 'tea,' which was actually just water.
After several cups of 'tea' and lots of praise from my Dad for such yummy tea, my
Mum arrived home. My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bringing him
a cup of tea, because it 'was just the cutest thing.'
My Mum waited, and sure enough, I walked down the hall with a 'cup of tea' for Daddy
and she watched him drink it all up.
Then she said, (as only a mother would know...)
"Did it ever occur to you that the only place your daughter can reach to get water
from - is the toilet?"
My Dad said it was very nice 'tea' anyway as he turned a little pale and left the room.
