Don’t ever stop making them feel special
|
I was listening to Sam Smith’s "Too Good at Goodbyes" recently and the chorus was something that resonated.
“But every time you hurt me, the less that I cry
And every time you leave me, the quicker these tears dry
And every time you walk out, the less I love you
Baby, we don't stand a chance, it's sad but it's true”
It got me thinking about relationships and how complacency can be the downfall of many relationships.
In the early days you get the messages, calls, public displays of affection and then suddenly one day it stops and you’re left wondering what went wrong.
If you have someone that you truly want to be with, don’t ever stop making them feel special to you. Let them know you value them, that you adore them and you want them in your life. It’s not about the material things, it’s the emotional aspects and the small gestures such as the messages that make them smile and know you’re thinking about them.
Make them feel your love and affection because the moment they don’t anymore you run the risk of losing them. Just like Sam Smith’s lyrics, each time you hurt their feelings the less they will cry and every time you make them feel unimportant to you the quicker their tears dry, until one day they decide it’s not worth it anymore.
“I love how you make me feel insignificant to you” said nobody ... EVER.
So hold onto what you’ve got and don’t be afraid to show them how you feel, or if you don’t want them anymore let them go and find happiness elsewhere.
