That generic avatar hand-thing.
|
|
When I visit a member's profile page to consider adding him or her to one of my private members-only clubs or as a fan, there is nothing which turns me off more than seeing the generic avatar at the top of his page.
I see profile-after-profile with generic avatars DESPITE the fact that the person has been a site member for years and years.
If a member has not even made the smallest effort to improve his profile page after years, what does that say about him or her?
Mikayla.

If someone adds my gallery to their favorites or becomes a fan, the first thing I do is read their profile and view their avatar... I like learning whatever it tells me about them. I spent a lot of time carefully choosing my own avatar and even writing about it in my profile... it was fun!
I too am disappointed when all I see is that jerking hand in someone's avatar space, and even worse when there is no profile to read... and I figure maybe they're just here to look and not share of themselves. That's ok, I guess... to each their own. It doesn't tell me they're automatically not worth adding, but with so many fun and interesting characters and personalities on IF, they sure haven't given me any incentive to notice or take interest in them! So if that's the idea, it's working.

Some might say, "I'm here to look at titties and pussy!" And ya know what... me too. Probably most of us are.
I guess I get it... they just log in and stay in the shadow. And that's cool. But at the same time, why would you consider adding them to your group when they've displayed such low effort?
You ain't wrong.

Adding a avatar was one of the first things I did. Seeing the avatar is a quick way to see what this may be into.
