So, a lot of my tg caps have been heavily influenced by http://tgswappingcaps.blogspot.com/, especially their great shift stuff (i know they're not the origin of the great shift, but i think they've done some of the best caps on the subject). one of their original concepts, the FOSE (Fantasy Orgasm Swapping Event) intrigues me, but there are some things i don't love about it. What I dislike is the method of swap; at particular moment, anyone orgasming is transferred into the body of the person they were thinking of. It's a neat concept, but there's something about it I don't love. I think for body swapping, I just prefer there to be less of a sexual nature to the swap itself, and for the sex stuff to be something the swapped individuals wander into separately (which is part of why I like the great shift).
I like that it's relatively small scale; it affects lots of people, but the majority of the world isn't swapped. I like this because one of my favorite plots is transformed/body-swapped individuals interacting with people who AREN'T swapped. I think the dynamic is fascinating, and made more so when all parties are aware of the swap. Never been a big fan of stuff where the swapped individual's partner doesn't know the swap took place, although I know a lot of people like that stuff. But what I like about the FOSE is that not only does the partner know, usually the rest of the world knows as well, especially if there's an age difference.
Which is why I've been toying a bit with the minor shift concept from http://tehswitcherscaptions.blogspot.com/. I like the idea of millions of people being swapped with eachother, having to adjust to their new lives, and the switches being common knowledge and fairly regular. But there are still lots and lots of people who aren't swapped, really the majority of people, and the caps are much more about swapped individuals learning to live with people who weren't swapped.
