The Girl In The Basement

Finally opening her eyes, she blinked around the dimly lit room before sitting up as the small steel chain connecting her new collar to the hook in the ceiling gently rattled. "Do you like your new necklace? Of course, it's meant for dogs, being a choke chain and all, but I think it'll work." said a grizzly voice. Her eyes finally adjusted to the dim lighting as she looked around, finally spotting the speaker the voice came from. She stretched her arms out over her head for a long moment before rubbing her eyes once again. Her head swam as the rancid stench of the room assaulted her senses. Her nose scrunched as the speaker cracked once again before the grizzly voice filled the room, "Don't make that face, sweetheart. This is your new room. You've everything you'll need for your... stay. You've got a bowl of food and water, and some toys that I've got prepared for us." Her eyes grew wide as the realization this wasn't a dream, but a horrid nightmare that would continue for only God knew how long.
