Extension of the Master. The slave should always remember that she is an extension, reflection, and representative of her Master, and behave accordingly. In all ways, she should strive to make her actions reflect well upon herself, her Master and upon Master/slave relationships in general.
Ownership. The slave should regard her time and body as belonging to the Master, not to herself. The slave's time and body are to be used as the Master wills, not as she wills. However, the slave has constant possession and use of her body, and should strive to maintain it in good health, appearance, mental and physical condition. (unknown source)
A Closer Look:
As with all relationships, both must remember that they're no longer individuals but a couple and as such should always be mindful of how their speech and actions reflect on their spouse.
Respect of the Master slave relationship should not rest exclusively on the shoulders of the slave; therefore the Master should consider setting forth an example of what is proper behavior in their relationship.
The feeling of being owned can be very emotional and comforting for the slave, giving her a feeling of security and the knowledge that she is cared for and protected.
For a potential Master, the allure of ownership can be very compelling and seductive, however, a slave is not a possession and should never be treated as such. With ownership comes a great deal of responsibility on the part of the Master and should never be taken lightly.
In conclusion, human relationships are very complex and the BDSM element makes it all the more. It is a type of relationship that demands complete honesty and openness on both parts.
