Three Years and Many Faps Since The Fappening Leak
|
|
It has been over three years since the personal photos of multiple popular celebrities were leaked online, in what was dubbed The Fappening or Celebgate. We've since learned that hackers were able to access the iCloud accounts of multiple celebs via phishing attacks -- a method where a hacker gains access to an account by sending targeted communication meant to trick the end user. Surprisingly, this method still works, even in this day and age. One question I've always had: why would you ever store nude photographs or personal intimate videos on a cloud service?
Not long after the photos were leaked on sites like 4chan and reddit (which ended up banning threads relating to the leak), the cat was out of the bag. Incredibly, the personal photos of big names like Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco and many many others were now up for the taking. Many came out in harsh criticism of any who dared look at the photos (come on, human curiousity!). Most famously, Jennifer Lawrence said anyone who sought out the photos should cower in shame. Give me a break! At least Emily Ratajkowski has some sense about her, saying she only blames the hackers themselves!
The FBI ended up arresting a 36 year old named Ryan Collins, who found himself with an 18 month sentence. Huge websites now feature the photos and sex tapes, much like this one. And thank god for that!

I guess that it's like the people that have amateur phone in their cellphones, they decided to free space Xd. They just forgot to be extra careful with their internet security
