Learning to like real women's bodies
I received the cultural message loud and clear and I learned to think cellulite is a bad thing. Without realizing it, I was brainwashed into having this totally unhelpful idea about cellulite. It led me to be turned off by my wife's body and that was pretty uncool. I was ashamed to have her wear shorts in public and I was less interested in sex. I don't know exactly how this message about cellulite in particular and about fat in general was instilled in me, but it definitely is something I was taught because a person with no preconceptions who looked at a woman's thighs with some cellulite there would probably not have a problem with it. And it definitely was taught subtly by covert cultural messages because I have no idea where I received the message.
The cool thing that happened though is that at some point I started to realize that I actually was attracted to the look of cellulite on women and that I generally actually prefer women to have it. Also that I like other so-called "flaws" such as stretch marks, saggy breasts, nice round and jiggly tummies. This was a life changer. All of a sudden I was free to really visually appreciate a much larger percentage of the female population. This helped my relationship with my wife and it got me interested in real amateur porn.
I plan to write soon about some of my ideas about why those features are attractive. I've heard quite enough about why we should want women to get rid of those things and I'm pretty clear that these messages come from images in the media in general and from messages in advertising in particular. There's been plenty written about that subject. My interest is in explanations for why I am actually quite a bit more turned on now by women with these "flaws" and I really have zero interest in the airbrushed women in certain types of magazines, advertisements, and much of the mainstream porn industry. More to come on this subject...
