Two and a half years ago I came to Vancouver, BC to start my
undergrad at UBC. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the city. Yes,
there are always issues with most places, and here certainly the housing prices
may keep me away in the future, and the traffic is crazy, but there is just so
much going for it. Absolutely fantastic restaurants, a huge health-minded
outdoors lifestyle, every specialty shop and boutique you could ever think of,
great weather, a strong economy, and amazing access to pretty much anything you
could ever want.
But if you have been reading my blog then
you know that for me it must come down to sex. And yes, Vancouver is a
wonderful sexual city with some amazing points to it. So let’s critique the
city based on its sexual atmosphere, merits and opportunities: The top 10 sexy
things about Vancouver (not in any particular order)
1) The city has a great climate, and
probably the mildest winters anywhere in Canada.
This of course significantly extends the shoulder seasons for loose fitting
summer dresses, short shorts, and every manner of scandalous outdoor attire you
can think of. It’s an exhibitionist’s dream come true.
2) The city has an athletic lifestyle which
enhances and promotes all the hot bodies found throughout the city. And a
number of the exercise gyms seriously double as social meat-markets as much as
for their health benefits. Meanwhile the number of beautiful joggers bouncing their
perky breasts down the many parks is a wonderful sight. It’s a voyeur’s dream come
true.
3) The city has a very liberal mindset and
a well established and robust LGBT community that is very easily accessible. It’s
a lesbian’s dream come true.
4) The city also promotes a strong
alternate BDSM lifestyle. Essentially, it’s Canada’s version of San Francisco.
Whatever your particular fetish or orientation, you will find it in this city,
and in droves. It’s a kink’s dream come true.
5) A large Asian influence helps promote
cosplay and Manga, if this is something you are into. Certainly discovering the
more sexual side to these is easy. It’s a sexy cosplayer’s dream come true.
6) Two decent downtown strip clubs that
offer a good atmosphere for amateur nights. (and only a single bus ride from
campus). It’s an amateur stripper’s dream come true.
7) Kitsilano Beach. Just
down from UBC before reaching the downtown core, Kits Beach offers a great
stretch of sand for sunbathing (i.e. showing off bikinis) and beach volleyball.
Evening barbeques off the tailgate of a truck is great. The Kitsilano area is
nicknamed Tits-ilano, and it has soundly, rightfully, and proudly earned its
reputation. It’s a flirt’s dream come true.
8) Wreck Beach.
Literally just off of UBC campus is this nudist beach. I mean how great is
that? Tell me of another university where between classes you can head down for
some rays and strip naked to bask in the sun. Awesome; nothing more to say.
It’s a nudist’s dream come true.
9) Tons of hiking and camping just outside
of the city. Doing a topless hike up Grouse Mountain (the
Grouse Grind) to overlook the city – been there, done that. Not to mention
going further out to do overnight backpacking up some beautiful mountains. I
have actually gone skinning-dipping in crystal-blue glacier-fed mountain lakes
on more than one occasion (I came out of that cold water with nipples hard
enough to cut glass. Not as flattering for the guys we were with though). It’s
a flasher’s dream come true.
10) A pretty good nightlife, and with two
very large universities on either end of the city, there is always a fantastic
party happening somewhere. All you have to do is follow all the scandalously
dressed and drunk university girls. It’s a partier’s dream come true.
So there it is. Vancouver is not
only a great city, but a great sexual city. This place gives me so many
opportunities and locations to let my wild side out. And of course, not being
the place where I grew up, I can feel a lot more liberal with my sexual
attitudes and demeanour while in public, as the size of the city gives a good
feel of anonymity for me.
Please dream of me,
Stacy
