Make My Blogs Better
|
|
I usually use Google Chrome for browsing. Marie is more old school and still uses Internet Explorer. When I complained to her last night that the blogs here put line breaks in the middle of the words, she didn't know what I was talking about. So I tried coming here with IE and found ImageFap plays much nicer with that browser than Chrome. So, especially for long blogs, like mine can be, I suggest you read them in IE.
While we are on the subject of making my blogs better to read, do any of you have any suggestions of things I could do or subjects I could cover to make my blogs more interesting. I have already started adding hyperlinks at Chris's suggestion. Do any of you have any more ideas?

Well you know that almost all browsers now have some kind of "read mode" (usually this can be enabled by clicking on a button in the address bar at least on chromium/firefox), this really makes stuff easier to read especially if a page contains quite alot of text (e.g. if you read stories on literotica ;) ). I just checked how the stories on my blog look like and i have to say i was impressed how much better they look with read mode enabled, so it might be worth to check this possibilty out too...

D'oh, I completely forgot about the suggestion for your blogs! I really like your photos, and I like the idea of keeping a running table of contents, but I'd also like to see more content about you. Things like when you masturbate, what new techniques you try, and any fetish you experiment with. I'd love to see detailed entries that go into intimate details of what certain things feel like and whether or not you'd try them again. If Marie, Karen, or Chris suggest a technique, I'd like to know how your experience compares to theirs, even if you're not with them when you try it. I can probably think of more in the future, but figured that this is a good start.

The line breaks are the result of poorly written code that needs to be updated. I remember them apparently looking for someone who could code PHP awhile back which might suggest overhauling this at some point.
The problem with coding for IE is that it doesn't conform to actual web standards which is why the people I know who design websites professional refuse to work with anyone who uses IE as a primary browser. If ImageFap is optimized for IE, it's not going to function well on anything else. FireFox has the line breaks too, so it's not just Chrome, and I'd be willing to bet that they're in Safari as well, because Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all conform to the standards that IE blatantly ignores. Opening the site in IE will definitely help people running Windows as you've discovered, (aside from the fact that it's a much less secure browser,) but it won't help anyone on a Mac or running another OS where IE isn't an option. Don't get me wrong, this information is great for Windows users, but the real issue is that ImageFap hasn't optimized their site for significantly more popular browsers that all share the same standards and even some of the same code, and it shows. Still, knowing that the site runs better in IE explains a lot of the issues I've run into with weird line breaks and other formatting errors, so thank you for sharing this! :)
