In this blog entry, I want to discuss the question of why it is important to punish girls (and women) when they are caught masturbating, without being ordered to do so by men. (And why well-educated girls wouldn't masturbate, or when they do, will confess their misdeed to receive the punishment they deserve).

The focal point is that masturbation undermines the whole system of girls and women not having any sexual autonomy, and therefore no right to sexual pleasure. The right of experiencing sexual pleasure might occasionally be granted by men, but it is of course not a right a girl or a woman is granted by her own - esp. not just by being a female! So, a girl or woman that masturbates evades the legitimate control of men, and violates ideologically central tenets of a well-ordered society. Therefore, she has to be punished very, very hard, as this should also deflect her from trying to do it again.

Further, girls are told early that this sweet little spot they have between their legs is not for pleasure, but for inflicting pain when they misbehave. When a girl masturbates, she could be lead to the false belief that her clitoris is for pleasure after all. It is important to avoid any such belief forming in young girls.

As mentioned in an early blog post, there can't be a strict age restriction for punishment for this indecent behaviour. Imagine how contradictory education would be if girls are allowed to masturbate at one point in time (or are at least not punished for doing so), and suddenly are no longer allowed to do so (and are punished harshly) at another, quite arbitrarily defined point in time!

Girls that are learning fast and are well-behaving will seldom masturbate more than once. And they have internalized correctly that if they do, they have to report it, and have to be punished for it. Of course, punishment is always heavier if a girl does not confess it herself, but is caught doing it.

This also makes it important to reward girls that denunciate other girls they have seen masturbating. In fact, one can allow such exemplary girls to do what the other girls weren't allowed to do. This kind of "peer control" is very valuable in boarding schools - or even in families with more than one daughter!
