Stoned Scale

1 Perceptual impairment self-evident, although mostly in minor transient episodes.  No change is external appearance or behaviour.

2 Perceptual effects are continuous, but relegated to the background in all activities. No change in external appearance or mood.  Behavioural influences well regulated, although familiar observers will find me unusually loquacious or jocular.

3 Impaired.  Perceptual artifacts may be suppressed briefly for urgent tasks, although with some difficulty.  Familiar observers will note inexplicable behaviours given enough time.  Mood changes becoming evident, particularly heightened sensitivity to sexual arousal.

4.     Drugs filter all perceptions, but the source of perceptual effects is evident.  Appearance and behaviour alterations evident to most people after some exposure.  Decidedly elevated mood.  Onset of quirky unconscious body movements.  Distinctly heightened sexual sensitivity.  Enhanced tendency to free associate.

5 Stoned.  Perception is mainly of being stoned and its effects.  Events and objects are principally perceived as seen stoned.  Physical activities are compromised by loss of coordination, random time dilations, and the humming cerebral feeling of overwhelming bliss.  Most observers quickly notice altered appearance, although facial expressions and  mannerisms are basically controlled.  Sexual thoughts easily predominate attention.  

6 Deep Sigh.  Intensity of impairment ebbs and surges in waves, the highest of which utterly compells one's attention.  Some quirky body movements are unconscious, but the majority are well regulated with a bit of effort.  Time is decidedly elastic.  Focusing one's attention takes considerable effort.  

7.     One's attention is focused almost exclusively upon one's stoned state.  Advanced planning or protracted attention are decidedly difficult and unpleasant to maintain.  Body movements are largely in sync with stoned perceptions.  Passing as unimpaired is no longer possible.  Identity remains continuous, although time assumes unpredictable properties.  Sexuality can assume almost overwhelming intensity.  Interactions with others remains possible, albeit on a very quirky and refracted basis.  

8.     Overwhelmed.  Self-awareness becomes inconsistent, with episodes of self-identified absorption with stoned reality.  Little effort remains available to conform to social norms, with characteristically quirky speech and movements.  Interactions with others becomes limited to transient episodes.  Reality begins to subsume some aspects of hyperbolic sexual fantasy.  

9  Shattered.  Awareness of self and place remain, although perhaps transiently.  External stimulae can induce responses.  Awareness without directed attention.  Waves of refracted consciousness ebb and flow, ranging from almost sensible to utterly unhinged.  The timeline of perception is broken, and some experiences feels temporily dissociated from other experiences.  Very intense and compelling sexual fantasies intrude upon consciousness.

10 Incapacitation.  No coherent response to external stimulae.  What remains of consciousness is focused exclusively upon its own perceptions.  Potential for deep insight.  Temporal perceptions shattered.  Body movements seem spastic and undirected.  Noises in lieu of coherent speech.  Potential for extreme sexual arousal, although sexual performance no longer practicable.
