She found the "radio" in the mail one day.  It was definitely a weird thing.  No speaker, just a pair of strange looking headphones with a headband.  The note said "from an admirer, slip-crime".  Putting it aside and forgetting about it for a few days wasn't a crime.   Oh, that's right, she nearly forgot - there was one other thing on the reverse-side of the card.  Slip Crime - What's slip-crime? 

So when she finally got home a few nights later, and picked the strange "thing" up and got around to plugging in the headband/earphones, she was already kind of tired.  Another strange thing - there didn't seem to be any kind of on/off switch, but sure enough when she put the headphones on she heard things, and what really was strange was she felt things too.

" Your first lesson"

We begin with a lesson about what we take for granted, and that which is not as it seems.  For example, you are sitting in a comfortable chair.  She Was!  Ok a little strange, but that would be easy to guess, she thought, the voice continued.   "The chair seems quite solid to you, even if it is soft and comfortable.  It's solid, you can't just melt right through it can you?  It's like the floor, or the table, or a glass you pick up.  Solid".  

Borrrring...  I do hope it isn't this boring, if it doesn't get better soon, I'm switching it off, she thought.

"But what if they weren't.  What if they are...".  Suddenly, she shuddered with a strange feeling, and for a moment she felt like she sunk deeper into the chair.   She felt a rush of panic, along with that other rush, and reassured herself she had just been drifting off and she had imagined it.   Really ought to get some sleep, oh, how do I turn this thing off?   "Repeating myself, you just experienced your first slip".  Suddenly, she felt another shudder run through her body.  Even stronger than the last one.  She felt like her entire being was sinking backwards and she felt an uncontrollable urge to let herself just float down into it.  Fear didn't even ocur to her, she didn't even struggle, instead she listened to the voice.

"Well yes, you didn't imagine the first slip, and now this second slip is that much easier, and you have decided you like it, do you want more?".  Yes!  She thought!, Every part of her cried out yes, don't stop now, I need this so very badly.  "Very well, but you still need to follow along".
