Why open toes with nylons are 'anti-fashion'?

I was wondering so many times why people say wearing an open to shoe with pantyhose or stocking (doesnt matter, nylons) are anti-fashion. But seriously why? Okay, wearing with cotton sock they are ugly for sure. But I never understood why is it 'forbidden' for example with a high heeled sandal.
My boyfriend (and as I see most men) loves high heeled sandals with nylons. I do often go to balls and the etiquette says I have to wear closed toe shoes. It's so sad, becouse I have a wonderful champagne colored high heel sandals with some rhinestones and they look super sexy with wolford neons. :(
What is your opinion of this?

Nem értem! Szerimtem az egyik legszexibb dolog a világon egy szép magassarkú szandál,vagy nyitott orrú cipő harisnyával. Főleg akkor ha a harisnyán keresztül látszanak a szexi lakkozott körmöcskéitek!
Én imádom Ãgy látni a párom lábát! Imádom csókolgatni a harisnyás lábát! Illatos és szexis! A múlkor rendezvényen voltunk és egy brutál szexi nyitott kék platform cipÅ‘ volt rajta fényes harisnyával és pirosra lakkozott körmökkel. Megkapta a kis pinája a a magáét!

We really don´t know why its supposed to be a fashion nogo...
form our poin of view its quite nice to see the nyloned toes peeping out of the shoe. Most ladies i have talked about this theme believe that nylon in open toe shoes are unwearable, but they are mostly not able to explain why... probably because they all say so... lol.
The most heard reason is the toe reinforcement and the seem along the toes peeking through. . But again why is it a nogo, Another Nogo is showing the leg reinforcement under short skirts or shorts. But to be honest....
i like it a lot.....
