Christmas morning all 3 external HDDs failed (long story, but basically never trust a review on the net, even Amazon). As it happens, everything was backed up to about 6 months ago, and most of what I've downloaded since then has been DVDs which I've already burnt onto discs.
Took all of Xmas day (and I mean all - 12 hours) and this morning to sort out. Got 2 back so far and transferring files to new HDDs - will probably take me a week!
And no, it isn't all porn!!!

Spending hours each day looking at porn with the possibility of finding an old favorite? The only pain that might give me is an ache in the balls and I don't mind getting that.

Don't blame WD to much. Over the last decades I had drives from all and every manufacturer failing on me. The last was a Seagate. The disk is most likely intact, but the on-disk controller board seems to be gone. I keep the disk, because I am going to look for a replacement controller - if I ever get to it.

thanks, briskjr. Actually, it's all backed up to about 6 months ago, but I've lost all the Score stuff I downloaded, including all my Hitomi Tanaka wank fodder, a lot of other big tit porn, such as some stuff from danni.com, and a lot of hardcore toons.
I've got one HDD back ok, with all my linsey dawn, yulia nova and nadine/milena stuf on, as well as a lot of non-porn stuff, but the other two drives are a bit more difficult. I've got them back through Recover My Files, but you have to purchase the software to actually save anything and I keep having issues with the license key I bought. Never buy Western Digital drives, because when they go, they are so much harder to get back.
Most of what you're looking for is still out there on the net somewhere but it's a pain to look for it!

I feel your pain. I lost a heap of porn a few years ago when a hard drive failed. You never forget those favorite pics you loved wanking to. I still hope to find new copies on the net someday.
