Something has been bothering me lately... Why is it that we still see sexuality as black and white, gay and strait... when the only real study on the subject proves the opposite? Alfred Kinsey studies human sexuality to find the norms and trends over years.. and the world outright ignores his findings? Why does scientific answer not mean anything in terms of sexuality? I am really upset by this... People jump to the question of saying "oh your gay?" "so you're strait?" we leave ourselves finding qualitative results to such personal questions, always leaving room for error. When the simplest of solutions is ALWAYS a quantitative answer.

The Kinsey scale exists. Yet we still only accept answers in terms of "yes-no-maybe".I took a quick test I found in an instant by googling his name, and came out with an answer I found true to myself. I'm a 2. I don't want to call myself gay, I don'twant to call myself strait, I don't even like the term bi. They all seem to have negative conotation. I think the only reason the scale doesn't catch on is because it would make it harder to hate people.

The media controls things like this, all they would have to do is wean us into it. However they would rather just leave society with a group to point the blame at. It's just too bad that because of this anyone that isn't a 0 on the Kinsey Scale, or at least doesn't act like a 0, has to "own" being gay. Sexuality like almost everything else in our world is a gradual shift from one side to another, and people can stop anywhere along that path that they feel comftorble. I know my place on the scale, I know what I like. I just feel we need to take this into consideration, and in the midst of worlds of personal dilema and chaos... let science do what it does best, answer the question we seek to find.
