Why should you care what "society" says about sexual behavior? Think for yourself.

Why do so many of us accept "societies" rules of sexual behavior as gospel? We are told what is right and wrong, what is acceptable and unacceptable and what is natural and unnatural sexual behavior, and far too many accept and repeat  rules when they should be questioning everything about them. Who made the rule? When? Why? Does it even apply to your situation? Is it fair and just? Does it make sense? If people would apply logic and their own values to things they are asked to believe, things they are told to hate and things they are told are wrong, they would see that much of "societies" notion of sexual propriety is nonsense, if not downright irrational.

These tenets survive because they are passed down wth such fervor and reinforced with a mighty stigma that will bring disgrace upon those who fail to embrace them. That stigma can only exist as long as people allow haters, fear mongerers and bigots to tell them what to do. Wake up and decide for yourself what is right instead of perpetuating hate and intolerance. Consider-

Why is homosexuality such a horrible, evil wicked thing? Why the seething hate for gays? Its been proven that humans will naturally engage in homosexual actvity unless conditioned not to by external influences. It is not for everybody, but its human nature, and if anyone has an explanation for why it is so evil and horrible I havent heard it. The best gay bashers can come up with are some very subjective interpretations of quotes taken out of context from the bible. These people need to take a deep breath, quit screaming and consider whether their hate and condemnation is really called for. Homophobia is one of the most irrational and unsupportable sexual prejudices ever.

Bisexuality in women is celebrated, tolerated and accepted, but a male who admits bisexuality risks total ruination. Whats up with that? Makes alot of sense, right? Especially when most men are bisexual to some degree, though they will never admit it.

Men love to dress up like women, and whats wrong with that? Its ok for me to dress like a lumberjack or wear a mans suit, but any hint of femininity in a mans clothes can get him ridiculed as a fag. Stupid and absurd. Even wearing a dress and full makeup doesnt make a man gay. Gay means having sex with another male and has nothing to do with clothes. Another totally irrational, repressive notion that needs to go away.

    more to follow.

    PS
Personally I refuse to identify with any term denoting sexual orientation - I reject the notion that sexuality is a static thing. To me sexuality is fluid, and I believe nobody should allow themselves to be restricted in their possibilities for love (or pleasure) But I respect the right of people to label themselves if they so choose; I personally see it as a form of bondage (how punny ; D)

Always nice to see some righteous free-thinking amongst all the fap.

Good thoughts and observations. It’s interesting how mch of a threat homosexuality is percieved to be to traditional ‘masculinity’.

Men need feminists help, methinks it’s time to start deconstructing masculinity.

It would be interesting to examine societies where homosexuality is accepted, or at least more accepted, and see what social conditions differ.

I agree that religion isnt the only basis for prejudice and persecution, but "gods word" is the only justification i have heard from violent gay bashers. Sadly, human nature is to set a pecking order and assert your place within it, but my plea is to overcome that kind of mindless behavior with reason and compassion. The easiest thing to do is to go with your instinct, or the crowd or what youre told. People need to have the courage to reject hate and intolerance and the confidence to change their thinking when they realize that their perception is incorrect and destructive. Thanks for reading and replying.

You make excellent points. Not all homophobia is religious persecution, a lot comes from some base desire inside all of us to seek out a "weaker" member of the tribe and belittle them. This is not just limited to men, think teen girls in school and how they act. Please note, I do not consider homosexuals weaker, just more vulnerable to abuse by a group/tribe.

I totally agree. I've been judged & persecuted quite a few times for my sex life, particularly by previous partners.
I think if it makes you happy & it's not hurting anyone (unless someone likes to be hurt that is! :D) then do it. To hell with what any self-righteous, goody-two-shoes thinks! :)
