Surveys on Internet forums certainly shouldn’t be taken too seriously. But sometimes they do provide interesting results if the questions and potential responses are properly constructed. Take this one from an Orgasm Denial forum regarding rules concerning porn that the men must follow. One of the responses was to check if they could watch any kind of porn at any time and orgasm when they wished. This question immediately allowed us to weed out those who are not actually under any sort of orgasm control at all; which turned out to be just over 1/3.

This actually set an interesting pattern of thirds. Roughly a third (36%) had restrictions on what sort of porn they could watch (e.g. only femdom, chastity related, etc.) and between a quarter and a third (29%) had to do their watching in chastity. The overlaps between these groups was even more interesting. For those who had restrictions on the type of porn they could watch, about 1/3 of them had to do it in chastity, while only 1/4 of those who watch any type had to be in chastity devices.

Even though we can’t be sure how representative these figures might be of the OD community at large, there is a certain logic to the responses. Those who control what is watched are more likely to closely control the orgasm; while those who closely control the orgasm with a CB are more or less evenly divided on whether to restrict the type of porn viewed.Oddly enough there were no responses under the option “No porn at any time” which is the sort of rule that shows up a lot in fiction. That shouldn’t be too surprising since fiction frequently contains extremes, and mythical things like inescapable chastity devices.
