The 'Goldern Age' of Bondage'?
|
|
To my thinking, and my research has shown that so-called 'Golden Age' happend in the very late 1970's and the eary 1980's, to enter in an age were the thinking of the mass population of the US did think that general sexual ideas, could not be directed to people at large by KGB style government agencies like the FBI.
The effect that the FBI had on people like Irving Klaw and Jonh Willie beforehand in the 50's and 60's , did force the whole fetish scene, including bondage, underground were it flourished, the huge mailing lists of Cheryal Rothman and Lyndia are testemend to this.
But all this changed in the mid 1970's when a small clothing company, tested the waters and lauched the 'House of Milan' into bondageland!

I agree with your thinking. In my opinion (and to my tastes) the HOM models and poses are still the standard of bondage photography. I just discovered your huge cache of vintage galleries want to thank you for the effort.

The Golden Age that i speak of is when Harmony Studios joined the fray in the very late 70's, and with smaller studios like CalStar gave notice to HOM that they were after a piece of the bondage market. It involved releasing on the marketplace a range of magazines that were to rival HOM's, and with CalStar's help, Harmony were to produce a range of bondage video's also. And Harmony also acted as a distabrution arm for smaller bondage studios and producers.
