Are You A Lady?
|
|
I'm happy that my girl's happy. Someone noticed her the other night while she was singing karaoke, and she stopped my girl and asked her if she was a lady or a ladyboy. (No derogatory inflection intended, on her or my part.) She said she smiled and acted as if she were shy. I'm just glad about that.
The reason why I'm glad: I had an extended conversation with another ladyboy friend of my girl's who just broke up with her boyfriend, during which she cited some statistic (which, admittedly, could be completely inaccurate and bullshit... The media in the Philippines is at least as unscrupulous as the media in the U.S.): 30% of Filipinos approve of the gay/bakla/ladyboy/shemale/whatever relationship. The straights there group them all into one category.
That's better than America, I suppose. In some ways. But, not by much.
Anyway, she's happy about that.
Yours,
Mike
