"You always wear the same kinds of shoes", she said, her hair different from last time, spiked at least three inches high, tatoos fastooning her body. Some were quite good I thought. In another life, maybe I'd have laid on some ink.
"They work", I replied. "Today's the first time I've seen you here not doing anything. Yyu are normally always reading something while you drink your coffee". "I'm tired today", I replied. "Up all night parting she asked, mirth on her face". ::Yeah something like that".
She asked me 20 questions in four minutes. Finally to stop the torrent I said "I like your hair". She flushed - I guess I was too blunt. I have a habit of doing that. "She brushed at it , preening - embarassed by the compliment'. "So what do you do?" she asked me. The inevitable question
'I don't do anything really anymore. I just go to an office and sit and read shit, occasionally write an email'
"Your weird she said as she walked to the door", her buttocks moving perfectly in the hot pink pants. I smiled and returned to sipping my cup of coffee. I glanced at the newspaper the man infront of me was reading. He did a terrible job of pretending he wasn't listening to our conversation, and spotted a small sideline on the page. Reading it I took my coffee, leaving a small tip.
Boring I muttered to myself under my breath as I walked out the door dodging the crowd of tourists headed back to the current company office. It was another day to be "boring" so she could continue thinking the worst thing in life was my comfortable, black, rubber soled shoes".
